Devotion: Glorify God In Your Body

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:20

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”

You were purchased at the cost of Christ’s blood. That is not meant to shame you — it is meant to free you. That means God loves you and cares about you enough to pay such a great price. There is nothing else that more greatly deserves the faithful use of your body.

But you must understand that glorifying God in your body is not just about avoiding sin. It is about active worship:

  • Use your knees to bow before God in prayer
  • Let your hands be raised in praise
  • Use your feet to go towards those who are in need
  • Use your mouth to speak life into those who are broken

Your body is not an accident. It is a gift and a tool for eternal joy in God, paid for with the precious blood of Christ.

Questions:

  1. In what positive ways can I glorify God with my body today?
  2. What area of my physical life needs intentional surrender?
  3. How does Christ’s sacrifice motivate obedience rather than guilt?
