Devotion: Rich In Good Works

Scripture: “That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate.” — 1 Timothy 6:18

God does not condemn the rich for having wealth. Instead, He commands them to be rich in something better: good works. Wealth becomes a powerful instrument in the hands of someone who views it as a stewardship rather than a status symbol.

To be “ready to distribute” is to live with an open hand. Generosity reflects trust in the living God rather than in uncertain riches. It declares that our security is not in what we hold, but in Who holds us.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Am I more focused on increasing my income or increasing my impact?
  2. Is there a need around me that I have the power to meet?
  3. How does generosity strengthen my trust in God?
