Scripture: “Nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.” — 1 Timothy 6:17
God gives richly for our enjoyment, but never for our worship. Possessions are tools, not masters. When we begin trusting in wealth for security or identity, we have misplaced our faith.
The proper posture is open-handed enjoyment. We thank God for what we have, use it for His glory, and remain ready to release it if He calls us to do so. True freedom is found not in having everything, but in being mastered by nothing except Christ.
Questions for Reflection:
- Where do I place my trust—God or my resources?
- If God asked me to give something up, would I obey?
- How can I practice open-handed stewardship this week?
