Devotion: Never Alone

Scripture:
John 14:18

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

Jesus promised His disciples that they would never be abandoned like orphans. Though His physical presence would soon depart, His spiritual presence would remain with them through the Holy Spirit.

This promise transforms the believer’s experience of loneliness. Even in moments when we feel completely isolated — lying awake at night, burdened by fear or sorrow — we are never truly alone. God Himself has made His dwelling place within us. The presence of the Father and the Son is made real through the Spirit who lives inside every believer.

Remembering this truth can bring deep comfort. Wherever we are, God is already there.
